We knew this day was coming and it has arrived. The FDA released its initial proposals for regulating the vape industry. Here is what we know so far:

  • The proposal would expand the FDA’s Tobacco Control Authority to include e-cigarettes, cigars, nicotine gels, pipe tobacco and dissolvables.
  • Sales of e-cigarette products would be prohibited to children under 18.
  • Manufacturers will be required to have an ingredients label on their products.
  • All e-cigarette products created after 2007 will be considered “new” and will be subject to a FDA approval process before they are offered to the public.

The 200+ page document is available to the public. There will be a public comment period of 75 days. InstantGMP™ Vape software alongside our E-Liquid SOPs will help your company come into compliance.
