GMP Certification means that a manufacturing facility, its policies and SOPs have been evaluated by a 3rd party organization. It’s important to know that the FDA itself does not certify nor does it recognize certifications. However, there are other benefits to certification including marketing, company reputation, consumer requirements or simply to take an extra step towards quality.

The process for becoming GMP certified involves self-evaluations of the facility, SOPs, overall quality system, document management, hardware and software. After the evaluations are completed, an auditor will evaluate your facility and if you are compliant with the current Good Manufacturing Practices issued by the FDA, the auditor will issue the certification. This certification may be displayed on products, marketing materials, company website, etc.
