Arkansas pushes the envelope with E-Liquid Law.
Arkansas Senate Bill 978 has been officially approved by both houses and is on its way to the governor’s desk. If signed into law, e-liquid manufacturers and retailers will be e required to have a license issued by the state by May 1st. Additionally, retailers would only be able to purchase e-cigarette-related products from distributors and manufacturers that are also licensed, which could limit selection for Arkansas vapers. The law also requires child-resistant packaging and lays the groundwork for taxation.
The bill was delivered to Governor Asa Hutchinson on April 1st. It’s unclear to when or if he will sign it.
